The Spartans beat Chappell in the opener, 8-0, and then dropped a tough 10-9 decision to Rapid City 320.  They had trailed 4-0 in the middle of the fourth, then scored 9 unanswered to take a commanding lead.  In the top of the sixth, Rapid city scored 7 and held on for the win.  Andy Gomez took the loss.

Day two saw Alliance come out with hot bats and defense to back them up in a 12-0 shutout of the Chadron Nationals.  They finished the day with a 14-2 win over Chappell.  Winning pitchers were Jayden Holman, Darin Bottger, and Jeff Heckman respectively.

The Seniors will be in action against Gering Tuesday night, and then head to the Rapid City Post 320 tournament to play the likes of Casper, Sturgis, Canon City, and the host the 320 club.

The next – and only – home action for the seniors will be a double header against Spearfish on July 11.

The Spartans Juniors played well in the Gering tournament over the weekend.  They posted a 2-0-1 record.  They beat Gordon and Sidney and tied with Torrington.  They will also be in action in Gering Tuesday night as part of a junior/senior double header.
