BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) – “Days of Our Lives” wins the drama series honors for just the second time in 40 years at the Daytime Emmy Awards. The NBC soap opera began airing in 1965. It beat out defending champ “General Hospital” and three-time winner “The Bold and the Beautiful.” Doug Davidson of “The Young and the Restless” and Heather Tom of “The Bold and the Beautiful” won the top acting honors. The awards show was on HLN, and the network’s censor wasn’t fast enough on the button. Corbin Bernsen used some of the words you aren’t supposed to say on TV while introducing the “In Memoriam” segment. He got a big laugh when he said he was just using the language his mother, Jeanne Cooper of “The Young and the Restless,” would have used.
