Justin BieberLAS VEGAS (AP) — Whether it’s been for his beefs with paparazzi, drugs on his tour bus, puking on stage — or losing custody of his pet monkey, Justin Bieber has been in the news for more than just music lately. And he says that’s wrong. He was given the Milestone Award last night at the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas — but was booed by some when he was named the winner.

During in his acceptance speech, he went after those who focus on his personal life. He says for a 19-year-old, he thinks he is “doing a pretty good job.” He says he’s “an artist” — not some gimmick — who should be judged on his music. He insists all the other “bull” — as he put it — “shouldn’t be spoken of.”

JUSTIN BIEBER TO BE CHARGED FOR MONKEY BUSINESS

BERLIN (AP) — Looks like Justin Bieber has lost possession of the pet monkey he had seized in Germany. And now he will also have to pick up the tab for having authorities shelter the pet while he decided what to do.

The capuchin monkey named Mally has been in Germany since it was seized March 28 when Bieber arrived on tour — because he lacked the proper paperwork. Friday was the deadline for The Beeb to reclaim the animal. But we won’t know until tomorrow whether the paperwork was filed. Mally has been cared for at a Munich animal shelter, where the manager says it is doing well.

The shelter has also criticized Bieber for keeping such a young monkey as a pet, saying it should be with its mom until it’s a year old. Experts also say capuchin monkeys are very sociable animals — and need to be kept in groups.
