American IdolLOS ANGELES (AP) — It’s all girls left on “American Idol,” but the potential showdown was on the judges’ panel. Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj disagreed about Kree Harrison’s performance of “She Talks To Angels,” and Minaj told Carey to simmer down.

That went away quickly, though, because Minaj was complimentary to Carey’s version of “Without You” even while dogging on Amber Holcomb’s rendition. Candice Glover had done the Mariah Carey-Whitney Houston song “When You Believe,” and Minaj recalled how she used to cry listening to that song.

Keith Urban said Angie Miller’s performance of “Halo” would definitely put her in the top three. The judges weren’t so kind to Janelle Arthur. Urban said Arthur thought too much about hitting the notes instead of feeling emotion, and Minaj said Arthur is lovable — but in danger of going home.
