Lead-Deadwood High School became training ground for more than 25 law-enforcement officers earlier this month.
Deadwood Police Chief Kelly Fuller tells the Black Hills Pioneer that the December school massacre in Newtown, Conn., helped spark the training session.
Lawrence County Detective Tavis Little says the goal was to increase cooperation between multiple agencies.
The training included representatives from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, Deadwood Police Department, Lead Police Department, federal Forest Service and South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks.
