My grandmother, Nadine Hornbeck loved Tony, and was possibly his biggest fan, but unfortunately she passed away two years ago. Being the oldest of her grandchildren, I grew up listening to Tony because that is just about the only records she ever played. Although I was only a child, I distinctively remember accompanying her to many of his performances. The one performance at a Kennedale school auditorium being most memorable because I met him that evening also. He was a true blessing to my grandmother, and I wanted to say how much we appreciate what he meant to her.

Douglas, I just wanted to thank you for sharing that memory about your grandmother. I am Tony’s daughter and love hearing how he blessed so many people. He truly had a great love for people and his fans were considered his friends. Thanks, again, for the comment. Blessings, Tonya D. Mowery
